Sawubona everyone! In siSwati that means hello. That's not the only thing you're going to learn from reading this blog though, the focus of the next few lines is on all the important "Fun Facts" about anything and everything that makes up SWAZILAND. Ready?

Fact #1:  Nsoko, (the town we are living in), is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

Fact #2: I haven't actually been a whole lot of places...but it's still gorgeous here, regardless.

Fact #3: It's just starting to get into the rainy season here, and the coolness that comes with the occasional showers is so refreshing.

Fact #4: Cows have complete free reign to roam around here. There are a LOT of them.

Fact #5: Pretty much any animal has free reign around here...pigs, chickens, goats, dogs, donkeys, and the occasional turkey.

Fact #6: Donkeys wake us up more often than the roosters do.

Fact #7: Nsoko is rich with genuine love, hospitality, and community, but extremely poor in just about everything else.

Fact #8: Nsoko is also very rich with thick, red dirt. (We're going to need lots of bleach for when I get home, Mom J)

Fact #9: When the afternoons pass slowly, and I start missing home and everyone that makes it home, I can find comfort in simply walking out the door, where I'm greeted by hundreds of children who cling to me like I'm their closest friend.

Fact #10: The smiles on the children's faces are more glorious than the scenery around me.

Fact #11:  Care Points are small huts where "Gogo's", (surrogate grandmothers from the community), provide food, fire, water, and sometimes even English lessons for the children in their area of the town- everyday.

Fact #12: Most of our ministry here focuses on visiting the 9 Care Points, helping the Gogo's in any way and telling everyone about our Lord Jesus.

Fact #13: We become the arms of the Body of Christ every time we hold a hungry, sick, or dirty child, and it is rocking my world.

Fact #14: Your prayers are being heard, answered, and manifested right now, and every day in this town, in these kids, and especially in my own heart.

Fact #15: I praise God for blessing me with you daily.

Fact #16:  Psalm 65

I hope these facts have helped you get a little more insight into this amazing adventure the Lord has brought me to. Let me know if you would like to learn more!

1 Thessalonians 5:16,

Laura
