Hey Everyone!
Every time I do one of these blogging assignments, I get more and more excited about our rapidly approaching trip! I know God has really amazing things ahead of us, because I feel this sense of excitement in all of your posts and blogs!

I would love to share with yall a little about my expectations for this trip. To start off, I have no clue! As unexciting as that is, I really don’t know. God obviously has me well on my way to Africa for a purpose, and has put me with all of you for His glory, ultimately, but to say exactly what I think is going to happen would completely take all the fun out of it! I have been asking God lately to show me some of the ways in which I can prepare my mind and heart for the experiences I will have and one of the answers He gave me was really exciting…
On Easter monring I woke up to find that, although I am a college Freshman, the Easter Bunny still loves me! 🙂 For starters, my “basket” was a box. It wasn’t just any box, but one made out of a map, that had collapsable, magnetic sides– way cool! The Easter Bunny told she chose it because it would be easy to carry on the plane with me on the way to Swazi. The next thing I found in my box was one of those little personal fans that you can wear around your neck, but it was GIRAFFE shaped, and its nose spun the fan– even cooler! haha It gets better. There was a rubber Elephant baloon in there…that one kind of weirded me out, haha but nonetheless, a very unique Easter gift.
As I sorted through and played with these presents, it hit me that this trip was going to be really fun. I started thinking about all of your posts, pictures and bios, and I realized how many excited, enthusiastic people were on this team, and it was like God was going, “Oh boy Africa, get ready for some intense joy!” And I hope that’s the case. These kids we will be ministering to need that from us! We are fun people! So let’s get ready to have a Jesus party with them and show them what loving God uninhibited looks like!

King David was really good at this. When he celebrated his Father in 2nd Samuel, the Bible says he “danced before the LORD with all his might”, and we all know his response to being reprimanded for being so ‘wild’: “I will become even more UNDIGNIFIED than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes.”
I’m going to start practicing my “King David Dance”, let’s see how good we can get by the time we arrive in Swazi. 🙂

Peace,
Laura
