Expectations of My Mission Trip
Hello everyone! I feel like i’m getting to know you guys so much already even though we haven’t met in person. I guess I’m with Laura, because I’m not really sure at all what God has in store for us. After this trip though I think all of us are going to be changed forever and stronger in Christ.
One thing I hope God makes me aware of is suffering throughout the world. I want him to show me how good I have it, and to make the misery and suffering really hit home. It brings me to tears just watching videos on suffering children and people, but to actually be there with them will be extraordinary. I want to come back from this trip grateful for what I have and in awe of the fact that God has truly blessed me.
Another desire I have for this trip is to show these orphans unconditional love. I want them to know that even though we might not meet again until heaven that they are loved and cherished in Christ’s eyes. Every child deserves so much love and to know that they are one in a million. I want to share our joy in Christ with them and bring huge smiles to their faces.
My prayer is that Christ will use all of us as his servants for his glory. The lyrics “I want to be his hands, I want to be his feet, I’ll go where he sends me” stands out in my mind. That is what I want…to serve my savior by reaching out to those less fortunate than myself.
BRING ON THE ADVENTURE!
Julie, I love this! You are inspiring in the way you talk about God’s love and how much you want to see His hand in this trip for you! I am totally on board with you in the brokenness thing! I want to be able to be humbled, as I’m sure we all will. I can’t wait to get there and experience this with you and the rest of our team!
