Expectations
WOW!!! Four weeks from today!!
I wake up each morning and its hits me all over again WE ARE GOING TO AFRICA! Its getting more and more real to me that God has a major adventure ahead of us in one month. These last few weeks I have been helping friends move in and prepare for another year at college and I cant help but feel so happy that I am heading to Swazi with so many awesome girls who all share the same passion as me! It becomes more and more real when I’m shopping for a sleeping bag and they are shopping for pots and pans for our apartment ha ha.
I find the idea of expectations a really hard thing to deal with as I’m getting ready for our trip. Lots of people who are supporting me financially continue to ask me what exactly are ya’ll going to be doing over there for three months, and my continues response is that all I know so far is that one our biggest goals will to be a ministry of presence. This means to me that us being over there and building relationships with these wonderful people will be a ministry in itself.
I also feel like it is best (for me at least) to go on a mission trip with little to know expectations except to constantly keep in the front of my mind that “I am here because God feels like He can use me as well as the people I am with to better His kingdom and bring Glory to His name.”
I am so stoked to be around everyone who is going on this trip. And feel so blessed to be engulfed by amazing people all striving to do the same thing I am. CHANGE THE WORLD!
hey bailey i really liked what you said…people continue to ask me about what we are doing and its hard to know what to say, but its so true that we may not be totally sure of what we are doing but we do know why we are going and that we will do whatever God wants of us. I’m glad you have that attitude! almost 4 weeks ahhh i can’t believe it!!
i can’t wait!!!
I hope you have a great adventure but I miss you already
Your grandfather and I are so glad you came to visit us tonight, it was a blessing for us. After you left we looked up the blog site you gave us several weeks ago, mainly to see if we could find it before you left. What a surprise to find so much information and a relief to see pictures and blogs from others. There has never been a doubt in our mind that you love mission work and your are following what has been placed in your heart. We love you and will pray for you daily!
BAILEY!! I saw a girl that looked like you today walking around campus and it made me think about you….obviously.. SO i miss youuuuuuu and i hope you’re having fun!!
